Today is World Book Day and in celebration I’ve written a piece that’s up on Farrago Magazine‘s website. It’s titled “88 Lines about 44 Books” and the structure is (of course) modeled on the lyrics of the 80s new wave classic by The Nails.

It’s a fun, general interest piece based on my years of studying literature and working in the bookselling industry. You can read it by clicking here.

In other exciting news I’ll soon be handing over the manuscript of Rare Birds to an editor, who will help me refine my first draft before submitting to a literary agent. My short story collection Watching Cartoons With Boys is also coming along nicely (with thanks to the team at the Arts Law Centre of Australia for their useful advice on copyright and self-publishing). More news to be posted on both projects soon!
